Alice grabbed hold of his shoulders, pulling him down to her level. She planted a long kiss on him. “Okay. Now, I’d like some clothes.” She smiled up at him. “Thank you.” Her nose wrinkled, even though she was still curious of her reason of how she got here without her clothing.
Tarrant raised his eyebrows upon finding her in his bed, shutting the door so no one else would come in. He walked over to the bed, easing the comforter out from beneath her and covering her up; he knew she would be mortified if she thought he’d seen her. She wanted to wait…
Tarrant cocked his head a bit, moving down to be within her reach. “Yes? What is it?”
“I.. I…” She buried her face into him, pulling his shirt to her. Her tears falling quickly and easily. She shook her head. Alice took a few gasps before shaking into another fit of sobs. “Don’t let go of me.. Don’t…” Her grip was so tight on him. The torture she was put through that week… IT flashed through her mind. The dark room… The blood… The whip.. The.. CRACK. “NO!” She cried out. “Hatter!!” Her throat was so tight, but having no release from her hysterical cry.
She was sleeping soundly for the first time in nearly a week. So her first reaction to being shaken awake was moan a little. But after her harsh week her mind kicked into protection mode. “LEAVE ME ALONE!” Alice shouted, throwing her body off the bed. Her eyes widen when she saw the mad man. “Tarrant!” She leapt forward and embraced him. She smoothed her hand over his hair. “I… I never thought I was going to escape… I thought I was going to die… I was scared I’d never see you again.. ” She began to sob, shaking in his arms.
The Hatter startled at her outburst, taking a few steps back. Perhaps she had left for a reason, he thought as his shoulders slumped, but he didn’t have long to think about it before she catapulted herself at him. He stood in shock, wrapping his arms around her tightly. “It’s okay, Alice, you’re safe.” He promised, stroking her hair. “Where’ve you been?”
She looked at him without bringing her face all the way up. “Both.” She said, her voice muffled in the sheets. But, Alice could help but giggle at the awkwardness she caused. She didn’t even remember how she ended up in this situation. Oh well. “But before you go…” She reached out to him, her hands grabbing the air repeatedly like a child.
Tarrant raised his eyebrows upon finding her in his bed, shutting the door so no one else would come in. He walked over to the bed, easing the comforter out from beneath her and covering her up; he knew she would be mortified if she thought he’d seen her. She wanted to wait until after the wedding. Tucking the blanket underneath her in the hopes of making her more comfortable, he planted a kiss on her forehead. “Are you all right, love?”
"Hmm?" Alice eyes felt crusty from sleep. "Oh, hello!" She smiled at him, "Yes, I’m fine… Why?" She sat up and the comforter fell from her, revealing her breasts. She hadn’t noticed until she felt a small draft. "Oh—" Alice quickly pulled the sheets over her chest, her face heated brightly. "Oh… oh goodness.." She brought her knees to her chest and stuffed her face between them.
The Hatter looked away until she was covered back up, finally meeting her eyes as he sat on the edge of the bed. “I just wanted to see if you were okay. Did you want me to bring you anything? Tea? Nightclothes?”
(( aH oh gosh yess. we must. ; w ; ))
The whole thing happened so quickly, the poor DJ didn’t have enough time to process just what the hell was going on. That embarrassing squeak the other got out of her from sneaking up on her like that was one thing, but then the peck on the cheek was another.
"Oh, uh…j-jeez, Alice…?" She sighed, chuckling a little, "Was it really necessary to do that? A simple “hello” would’ve been cool, too,” She joked, grinning.
Alice tossed her hand. “No. I believe it was called for.” She smiled at Vinyl playfully. She shifted her weight to the other foot. “And I have no need to think otherwise.” She said, oh too smuggly.
Hmm… Orange juice sounded good, but so did Earl Grey… Alice took her seat and smiled up at him, “Thank you.” She took her napkin and put it over her legs. She rested her forearms on the table in front of her. “Um, juice sounds nice.”
He leaned his elbows on the counter, waiting for the toaster. “I believe I heard them stumble in at some point this morning. But I also heard someone getting sick just after, so I’m not sure if they’ll want to eat with us.” The toast popped up and he set to smearing the jam over each slice. “I can go see if they’re up, if you’d like.”“No, no.” She waved the idea of him retrieving the tired, sickly others. “It will be nice to have a quiet breakfast.” The eggs looked ready. She pulled out a plate, tipping the pan over, carefully scraping the eggs off it onto the plate. She set it in the sink to be washed later, and set the plate on table. “Don’t you think?” Alice smiled at him.
"Yes. I suppose. It shall be the first we’ve had in a while." He returned her smile, bringing the toast over. He pulled out a chair for her, gesturing her over. "Shall i get you something to drink?"
Alice took a deep breath in, inhaling his scent. She was so content, and she honestly felt like nothing would disturb them. That, until she started to drift asleep in his arms. Her head fell back, and startled her. “Oh!” She gasped, blinking rapidly. She laughed awkwardly. “Heh… Sorry…”
He turned his cheek to her touch, smiling down at her gently. He took her hand in his, pressing a dry kiss to her knuckles. “I’m glad because you’re here right now instead of somewhere else. When you could be somewhere else. That you’re smiling. That you kissed me.” He sighed contentedly, giving her hand a squeeze. “I have an awful lot to be glad about.”Alice just looked at him. She was taken over by his words. “Oh… Tarrant…” Her eyes grew moist. “There is no other place I would want to be more than here.” She rested her head back on his chest.
"There’s another thing to be glad about. You saying things like that." He smiled, moving his hand to the back of her head to hold her there. "It makes me feel very lucky." He mused, humming lightly under his breath. "Very lucky indeed."
